Coffee Shop Equipment
6 October 2009 in CoffeeYour dream has come true and you are in the coffee shop business? As coffee shops become more popular, business for the coffee shop becomes more competitive, requiring you, as a business owner, to be sure you have the best quality product possible.
When you purchase already roasted coffee, the exact freshness of the product is often debatable. Unfortunately, coffee roasters occasionally will pass off ground coffee that is stale, or even degraded to some extent. This reflects very poorly on you when customers decide to go to the coffee shop down the street. If you’ve been selling a brand of roasted coffee which is not top-notch, it is your own business which will suffer!
If only you could somehow enhance your long-term performance as well as your day-to-day operations and not worry constantly about freshness. It is possible if you have commercial coffee roasting equipment.
But you worry about purchasing such a piece of equipment, as you are no roast master. What you might not realize is that commercial coffee roasting equipment today comes entirely computerized, ending the guesswork that a roast master had to diligently learn how to do first. Color touch-screens make it even easier to operate your own commercial coffee roasting machine. Your signature recipe will be what keeps your customers coming back as you manually roast your beans.
In fact, when you create a roast profile that your customers are particularly pleased with, these machines allow them to save the recipes for you. Many machines also offer multiple indicators in order to keep the machine working properly and efficiently.
Having your own commercial coffee roasting equipment also means that you can create your own brands of coffee through experimentation and arrive at blends that will have your retail sales climbing, not by the cup, but in fresh roasted coffee beans sold by the bagful. It is also possible that when you discover blends that work for your customers, you may also wish to go into wholesaling your roasted coffee to other retailers.
No longer having to rely on pre-roasted coffee is a freedom that you will treasure. There is a cost advantage to buying and roasting your own green coffee beans, and once you try it, you will realize the good business sense it makes to roast your own beans. Now you will only have yourself to rely upon, and most entrepreneurs realize that reliance on oneself can be the way to grow exponentially in a business enterprise.
Finally, of course, there is also a chance to vary your product selection. It is not uncommon for this to cause growth for a retail coffee shop in substantial ways. Once word gets out from one coffee lover to the next about your new recipe, you may decide to keep that one and phase out another.
In conclusion, being able to control complete freshness will be available to you; costs will eventually go down, as green beans are less expensive; your business may expand if you create a roasting recipe people want to purchase; and finally you may very well create a recipe that will allow you to sell your coffee on a wholesale basis. All this because you considered purchasing a commercial coffee roasting machine and acted upon it!
